Quilters Companion Corrections:

Issue 84
In Part 2 of Pieces of the Past from Wendy Whellum, the Template A on the printed pattern sheet is the incorrect size. The digital version of the pattern has now been updated to reflect this, and can be found here.
Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Issue 79
Little House on the Hill – we have published the incorrect size of the project. The correct size is 71cm x 92cm (28in x 36in).

Issue 79

For the Diary Dates entry of CraftAlive Bendigo, the dates were unfortunately printed wrong. The correct dates are 17th-19th of June. We’re very sorry for this mistake.

Quilts From Precut Fabrics #5
Oceans of Colour in Quilts from Precut Fabrics #5, p. 20
Cut the fabric
From the light grey tone-on-tone fabric, cut:
• another 13 strips, 2½in x width of fabric. Cross cut them to yield a total of 72 squares, 2½in (A); 36 rectangles, 2½in x 4½in (B); eight rectangles, 2½in x 12

Issue 78
For the Diary Dates entry of CraftAlive Ballarat, the dates were unfortunately printed wrong. The correct dates are 1st-3rd of July. We would like to apologies for this error.

Issue 76
Harrisburg Quilt Part 2 On page 101, Tiramisu – make four blocks.
To make all four blocks, from the light background blue shirting print, cut:
– One strip 2 3/8in x width of fabric and cross cut 16  squares, 2 3/8in. Cut each square once across the diagonal – A.

Issue 76
Correction to Banner Block Quilt — Kaleidoscope by Leesa Chandler
In the instructions for making the Banner block for this project, we mistakenly referred in Step 1 to joining “two 1¼in strips of gold fabric to the left edge of each strip of feature print fabric”. But the cutting instructions didn’t include any 1¼in strips of gold fabric for the blocks, only 1¾in strips. The cutting instructions are correct, so Step 1 should read “Following Diagram 1, join two 1¾in strips of gold fabric …”. Our apologies to readers who are making this project and to Leesa for our error.

Issue 75

Details for the supplier of the Shape Cut Plus by June Tailor were omitted from the Road Test (p120). Details for the supplier, Somethings Country are:
180 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy Qld 4610. Ph: (07) 4162 2040, email: somethingscountry@bigpond.com, website: http://www.somethingscountry.com

Creative Stash and Scrap Quilts book
There has been an omission of the owl templates for the ‘It’s a Hoot’ quilt in Creative Stash and Scrap quilts book. The larger template can be found here, the smaller template here.

Quilts From Precut Fabrics #4
The quilt assembly diagrams for the Barn Dance project on pages 36 and 37 are incorrect. Instead of laying out the blocks as shown there, the five Barn Dance blocks need to be rotated by 90 degrees so that you have four white pinwheel shapes surrounding the centre block in your completed quilt. We apologise most sincerely for this error.

Issue 74
Correction to Four Card Trick by Wendy Whellum in QC#74
The cutting instructions for the print fabrics in Four Card Trick yielded excess half-square and quarter-square triangles. Cut the print fabrics as follows to obtain the exact number of triangles required.
To make the 20 blocks, from each of 40 print fabrics, cut:
• two squares, 4 7/8in and cut each square once across the diagonal to yield a total of 160 half-square triangles
• one square, 5 1/4in and cut the square twice across the diagonal to yield a total of 160 quarter-square triangles.
To make each of the 20 blocks, from the triangles select four sets of two matching half-square triangles and four sets of two matching quarter-square triangles.
To assemble each block, follow the diagrams and the photograph of the quilt to combine print triangles with corresponding background triangles.

Issue 68
There was an error with the printed listings for the New Zealand On The Road map. The correct map is below. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

68OTR-map-fixed

Quiltaholics Stockists and Contacts listing.

Unfortunately the location and phone number of the store Quiltaholics in the Homespun/Monica Poole Block of the Month fabric supplier listing is wrong. The correct details are: 25 Mt Barker Road, Totness, South Australia 5250, Phone: (08) 8391 4623, Website: www.quiltaholics.com.au. The correct details will be in our April issue and onwards.
Our most sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Issue 49
Unfortunately an incorrect website has been listed on the Designer Diva competition entry form. Please note that the Husqvarna Viking website is http://www.husqvarnaviking.com/au

Our sincere apologies for this error.

Issue 26
The contact number for Quilter’s World – published on page 54 – is incorrect. To contact Nettie the correct number is (07) 4632 4887
Issue 6
Blue Grotto, page 68.
Diagram 12 is incorrect. For correct placement of the cream/blue square and the cream/black square, align A to W, B to Y, D to Z and C to X.
Baskets-a-plenty, page 37.
The 1in strips for Border 2 and those used in Section 2 and 3, should be cut 11/2in with a finished size 1in

Issue 25
The contact details for The Cottage Quiltworks were omitted from QC#25. They are: Building 4, Quattro Corporate, 4 Daydream Street, Warriewood, NSW 2102 . Ph/fax: (02) 9997 4661, email info@cottagequiltworks.com.au, website: www.cottagequiltworks.com.au

FRESHCA by Michelle Marvig:

From each of the four light-value fabrics, cut: 1 strip, 5 3/8in (not 5in as published) x width of fabric and cross cut 8, 5 3/8in squares (a total of 32 squares for Pinwheel block backgrounds)

Issue 18
The ‘Marmees Sunday Cloth’ quilt as featured in the Make a Quilt with Pam Holland DVD is missing the Churn Dash Block pattern. Click on the link to access the pattern and download to print.
For a full set of templates for ‘Candied Hexagons’ by Kerry Dear, please click here for the first set and click here for the second set.

Issue 16
A quilt was pictured in  News Patch and attributed to Patty Harants. The quilt is actually a miniature replica of the Rebecca Kohler quilt and was made by Judy Day. The confusion came from the fact that both Judy’s and Patty’s quilts were displayed at the same exhibition. Our apologies Judy.

Issue 13
The quilt layout diagram for ‘Oh Starry Night’ by Rachel Ottley on page 59 is in error. Please refer to the quilt photograph on page 56 to layout the rows correctly when assembling the quilt.

Quilts for Kids #1
Touchy Quilt.
The green strips should be cut 141/2in (35.5cm), not 14in, and the orange strips should be cut 281/2in (69.5cm), not 28in.

Issue 12
Rambling Rose, page 89.
From the green rose print fabric, cut:
8 strips, 3 1/4in x width of fabric. Cross cut to yield 40 rectangles, 3 1/4in x 9in for the sashing.

Issue 10
Hexagon Nine-patch, page 60.
The diagram and instructions do not match. Instead of sewing the strips to make the block in three vertical columns as instructed (eg. strip set 2A to the LEFT of Strip Set 1 and strip set 2B to the RIGHT of Strip Set 1), readers should sew the block in rows. Put the piece cut from Strip Set 1 so that it runs HORIZONTALLY. Sew the strip cut from strip set 2A to the BOTTOM of it, and the strip cut from Strip Set 2B to the TOP of it. In this manner, the block will match the diagram.

Issue 7
Baby Elephant Walk, page 94.
The squares for the Nine-patch blocks should be cut 21/2in, not 31/2in as published. The squares for the Tile block should be 21/2in, not 31/2in, and the squares for the Tile blocks to make triangle-squares should be 27/8in not 3 7/8in.
